Our Belief

Growth of a Chinese Bamboo Tree requires intense nurturing – water, fertile soil, sunshine. In its first year, we see no visible signs of activity. In the second year, again, no growth above the soil. The third, the fourth, still nothing. Our patience is tested and we begin to wonder if our efforts will ever be rewarded. And finally in the fifth year – behold, it’s a miracle! We experience growth. And what growth it is! The Chinese Bamboo Tree grows 80 feet in just 5 weeks!

Now the question is does it grow 80 feet tall in five weeks, or five years? The answer is obvious. It grows 80 feet tall in five years as during that period it was building the capacity to take off from the ground with such vigor.

Equity is just like Chinese bamboo, it’s possible that it doesn’t give you any return for years but then in very small period of time it starts growing with the unusual and unbelievable speed which eventually compensates for all our discipline, patience and faith.

From a Rs 10 lakh investment to a Rs 20 crore fund: the inspiring story of Abhishek Agarwal and RockStud Capital

It all started in 2014 when Abhishek Agarwal, then 29, was running a research firm called Fortune Interfinance. Tracking stocks and the market as a research analyst for eight years, he wondered what the next step was. The money was good, but Abhishek realised he wasn’t changing things, or adding value in any way.

A $10 Mn VC Fund, Rockstud Capital To Bridge Early-Stage Funding Gap

  • Entire corpus for Rockstud Capital has been raised through domestic investors, mainly HNI, corporate professionals, and family offices
  • The gap in funding between the angel round and Series A is quite high for a startup, and this is where Rockstud Capital is aiming to fit in.
  • It looks to provide startups the required growth capital to scale and have a respectable number of validations before they go on to raise large rounds.
